Our Services

Our office utilizes spinal scans as a method of analysis. The two different types of scans we perform in our office are thermal and surface electromyography (sEMG). Each type of scan gives our doctors different information. One, both or neither may be used during your examinations depending on your condition and the needs of the doctor in evaluating your condition. If a scan is performed it will most often be a sEMG. The sEMG scan measures the amount of electrical activity in a particular muscle or group of muscles. This is directly related to the amount of tension being produced by that muscle or group of muscles. When evaluating the muscles surrounding the spine, abnormally high readings and/or unbalanced readings when comparing one side to the other is a strong indication of dysfunction in that area of the spine. This dysfunction can, and often is, found in areas with little of no pain. By locating areas of dysfunction as opposed to "chasing" pain we are able to get to the source of your problem. Follow-up scans may used used to evaluate you progress.
